For shoter periods use EMA, I use an estimated ribbon band as it's extremely intuitive to see how resistance work as a trampoline and clear buy and sell signals when the EMA ribbon turn.
MACD to show momentum and Stochastic to know where in the cycle you are. RSI also pretty helpful.
