It is really, really difficult to have a serious discussion about taxes with people who think like this, yes. They don't understand that an army of bureaucratic grifters, contract queens, welfare queens, and whoever else get their big cut of their tax money before it finally makes its way to something "useful" (maybe). Really it's an atrociously oversized grift machine.
