I'm still very knew to trading, and only recently I started to realize: if I believe in stock moderately going up short-term, I can either 1. buy it and hold until PT reached, swimming in the sea of red for indefinite period when another unexpected bobo comes, or 2. buy calls and rip my profits on growth / say "meh, whatever" on failure.
Option 2 doesn't lock up my money and lets me diversify much more. Why should not I buy calls instead of getting stocks?

I have no problem acknowledging my retardation, but these apples and oranges taste much more similar to me than, say, ICE vs BAC or ICE vs AAPL; yeah, a fund and a singular stock belong to different categories, but they have similar stability conditions (securities actively traded on an exchange), and similar growth conditions (market goes up).

A literal wedge.
