With current layoffs and so many companies closing their doors to interns and people with 0 related professional experience, I have come to realize that these companies are now only pooling from top universities and could care less about some state school that you went to. I'm currently at a state school majoring in computer science. I graduate in December and I've been working a hell desk job for the last year and a half that I'm pretty grateful for but it pays like shit and I want to actually apply my skills somewhere. I have an active GitHub where I commit something at least once per day. I just don't know what to do from here. Is starting my own business or working on my own product what I should be doing? My only concern is that all tech and consumer products are dominated by like 10-20 services/apps/comapnies/etc and users don't want to move to something different, so how the hell am I supposed to compete? ITS ALL SO FUCKED
