I did some very scientific calculations and found that GME could shortly dip 12% below open, which if it opens at $44 would put the dip at around $38.7. How retarded are my calculations?

You become a “maker” when you place an order and it does not trade immediately, so your order stays in the order book and waits for someone else to fill/match with it later.

Taker
The 'taker' is someone who decides to place an order that is instantly matched with an existing order on the order book.

Why would you want to be a maker if both positions have a same order fee e.g. 0.1%

But I have a question about investing because when corona happened my boss told me he lost over $30k in investments. Why do people lose many thousands of dollars in investing when things go sour for whatever they invested in? It's self explanatory but say if the thing you invested in collapsed and then it is worth less of what you invested, why not just wait for it to pump back up again so you don't lose money or lose much less than the dip?
