>if you are a seller of goods accepting xmr, why wouldn’t you want the price to rise?

You're confusing being anti-moonfag with being anti-NGU. A rising price is welcome as long as its organic and slow as opposed to artificial and rapid. Rapid price hikes invite manic speculation, which in turn results in persistent volatility, and volatility is really bad for commerce, especially the kind that relies on escrow. This was made glaringly apparent over the past week when the XMR dump forced multiple DNM vendors to cancel a slew of orders due to the losses incurred.

And that's why Monero's legendary crabbing is often celebrated as being a positive since minimal volatility = good for commerce.

So as long as the XMR price rises slowly and over a longer period of time, these harmful volatility problems can be avoided. And avoiding such problems means the economy can continue expanding = consumer XMR demand keeps growing = number keeps going up *organically*.

TL;DR: being anti-moonfag = being pro-sustainable NGU.
