lol, every user that handles more than a few $k pays Chainlink.
They always have.

The price feeds were never free (see pic) and the token is absolutely needed.

Good, bye now.

No idea what the relevance of that link is either.

"Paying for it".
See pic.

This is exactly how contracts will work when mainnet goes fully live btw:

1) client pays contract operator (in whatever they want)
2) contract operator pays nodes (in Link)
3) node operator pays source (if applicable)
[5) if the node misbehaves, the node pays the contract operator with (part of) the staked Link]

It's just that there will be countless independent contract operators when mainnet goes fully live. Right now Chainlink itself is the only contract operator.

>if Sergey wasn't paying them to operate out of the incentive wallet with Chainlink Community Grants (tm), the node wouldn't exist.
1) Chainlink users like Aave, Synthetix, Kava, ... secure billions of $ through Chainlink

2) these users pay Chainlink

Nope, see pic.
Users have to pay to use Chainlink.

Also, Sergey is the contract operator, and contract operators are supposed to provide the linkies as payment.

1) it was stated before the ICO that about a 3rd of the token supply would be used to fund the network and its development

2) the current users of Chainlink are actually paying for the service, see pic.

Sorry OP.

Why are so many low level defi projects dedicated to using Chainlink? I know its for exposure, but it is honestly baffling that people are willing to spend so much money to use shitlink.

Have you see the tweet by the Kava CEO? The amount of shilling hes doing for chainlink is unreal. I dont get what benefit these guys are getting out of it. Its not LINK is gonna moon to $5 because of Kava

furthermore, here is the jack ass CEO spending god knows how much of his companies money on a useless scamware just so he can get internet points from 4channers. Yeah, great business model. Youre already on thin ice with a R&D shitcoin project no one is paying you to use, and now youre spending all your company resources on something you dont need. Such a great ceo

It literally shows that Synthetix is paying.

As confirmed by other Chainlink users, see pic.

>>16 active nodes
>all have been traced back to sergey
No, 16 active users.
There are 30 KYC nodes, and they're all separate, independent entities.
There are also over 100 non-KYC nodes on mainnet right now.

Wrong.
There are non-kyc nodes running jobs right now and getting paid just like the other nodes.

That is entirely up to the companies using Chainlink, who do pay to use Chainlink; see >>19382462
and pic related.
