I don't think it's too far off. Hellish oppression will be enabled through a marriage of big gov and mega corps gaining a stranglehold on personal freedoms via personal surveillance, media, and digital fiat controls. Hyper liberalism and complete domination of minds through media propaganda is already here. Brainchips are already in the works, which will lead to further cyber augmentations. The cities are already extremely violent and prone to riots. The gigawealthy and CEO execs are already the top of the top of the food chain with massive wealth inequality between them and the impoverished masses on the ground.

I mean yeah, we're missing some aesthetics like neon lights, holograms, and actual cyber punk style, but the trend has got to start somewhere. Maybe if I make it I'll open a bar with the cyberpunk aesthetic. With screens everywhere, neon lining the bar, oppressive utilitarian appliances, gogo dancers with neon mohawks/wigs, overmuscled bouncers in leather jackets with neon lit logos of my bar. Could blast EDM/cyberpunky shit, have a VIP second floor with private rooms and a full view of the sewer rats on the ground.

We have to live in this hellhole but we can at least look cool doing it
