All I can suggest is if you want to splash out on $20-30 a cigar, after that you're just setting money on fire, you can get great ones under $20, Davidoff are expensive but quality construction, Cuban vs New world is irrelevant. Ring gauge is how thick they are, you will want a Corona or Robusto size, though anything 43-52 ring gauge but 5-6 inches should smoke for about an hour which I think is plenty, you can go longer but it's not always worth it. An hour with a bottle of fine spirits is a fine thing once in a blue moon. I would suggest looking at pricing and then at reviews of them, gimmick Like Alec Bradley's barber pole cigars, the hooligan series are no great at all. Best thing to do is try one at a time, once a month, get an idea for them and won't break the bank going through the decent ones then you'll build up enough of a library that 4 or 5 will be in a humidor staple with a few more expensive ones in there. The longer that a cigar is kept in a humidor the better they get over the years. which is why people keep them in humidors for years, the value goes mental on them as people smoke them and the limited ones reduce in value. A $20 cigar today could be worth a few hundred in 20 years
