I have similar feelings about anons posting in fashion threads, rifle threads, aquarium threads, home threads, etc. A part of me is jealous that they have these things that I don't, but another part of me knows that I've been denying myself these pleasures so I can enjoy a greater future, delayed gratification if you will.

I don't want to splurge or be a degenerate with my money, the simple ability to not worry about losing my job or financial issues is all I want. I'm completely fine with an inexpensive car (the abarth spider and mx5 seem nice), and being able to enjoy it without gutting my post-tax take-home every month to pay for it.

My family and friends have told me time and time again to sell. A coworker once remarked, "you have more in crypto than my entire net worth". I graduated in May and my investments were the scraps of my student budget that I DCA'd into link, and yet my portfolio is worth more than his net worth, the guy who drives a 2020 Tesla and owns 30 rental properties. My dad says, "you've got to spread our your investments, it's not safe to rely on one thing", because he doesn't understand the magnitude of crypto. My mom says, "you need to put your portfolio into your Roth, it's going to be there for you when you need it most, and it's tax-free". My closest friend routinely says, "if you don't sell now, you're going to regret it, you've had a good run and it's important to lock in those gains".

Every single one of these people is going to tell me I was lucky. Every single one of them is going to tell me I was in the right place at the right time. I have regular purchases dating back to December 2017 when link was listed on Binance, because I couldn't participate in the ICO. It didn't moon in the golden bull run that year, and bled sats forever. I didn't sell. They told me for years that I had to sell, and I didn't. I'm going to make it, not because I'm lucky, but because I didn't sell and listened to assblaster instead.
