So what's a company you admire /biz/? If you were to start up a business, what company would you try and emulate?

I'd say Tesla
>Amazing R&D department
>Philanthropic
>Actually cares about social responsibilities
>Forward thinking
>Charismatic head

It's got everything.

Two major technologies will cause major paradigm shifts in their respective sectors in the coming century.

Quantum computing

Vactrain transportation

I'm 20, I missed out on the dot-com bubble, and I don't plan on missing out on these next major paradigm shifts. Is it too soon to start investing in companies focusing on R&D into these technologies? I'm in the fortunate position of having a significant inheritance, and I want to get in at the early stages, but I do not know how soon is too soon.
