my friend. let’s think. I’m not sure it’s going to happen to gold. why? well... if it’s a bimetal standard, they only need to set one ratio (how many lesser value metal to a single unit of higher value metal) and then the higher valued metal can float freely on the market. that’s how a pegged exchange rate would work. silver needs to be set to gold’s price, historically averaging around 15:1, whilst gold can be the floating spot market price.

the other way they do it is there is exactly X amount of treasury dollars for every ounce of gold and silver in which case both prices need to be set and would not be dynamic by default.
