Essentially you have the original trend line and after it gets broken you would buy or sell at the specific trendline, it's a very common occurrence. Try drawing a line say from the last bullrun in 2017 to the previous low in 2015 and you would see the trendline being tested at it's ath the same thing occurred in 2019.
