Mainly usefull if you mine with your GPU. I would advise to mine on p2pool (mini) anyway if you mine with a CPU but it's not a that of a big pool and they help(ed) monero ecosystem so if you like them and prefer to mine with them it's allright as i see it

i've seen that pruned nodes are 1/3 of total blockchain so it could be a starter. I don't know the exact size of the pruned blckchain. Also blockchain scanning has been improved. Maybe we could set up a way to generate torrents of the blockchain/pruned and have them updated every week or so to ease people
the blockchain is already available to download on https://www.getmonero.org/downloads/#blockchain but i can't see any pruned blockchain download or torrent file

it's more or less the same, you'll mine ETH while it lasts, but you'll receive btc with nicehash and xmr with MO. if you mine with a GPU only eth rentability counts. in case you have a regular CPU you can also mine on P2Pool (Mini) to help the network
