I'll take my shot to explain it how I understand it. Basically:
>Anyone can make a subgraph on the Graph network.
>A subgraph is simply a container that contains important data about a dapp, service, protocol or website. i.e coingecko, CMC, Uniswap, etc.
>After a subgraph is made, the consumer (usually a developer) can query that subgraph ot fetch the relevant info they want.
>To query a subgraph, you pay in GRT a very small amount.
>That small amount then get burnt and gone unless there is an indexer servicing the subgraph.
>There can be multiple indexers for one subgraph, and similarly, an indexer can service multiple subgraphs
>Indexers are incentivized to index because they get % of the query fees + % of the 3% annual issuance.
>Curators get incentivized for choosing a subgraph and get a portion of the query fees as well.
>delegators get incentivied since they get a cut from the indexers' rewards
