That's the thing people don't understand. The government is not supposed to manipulate the economy. All they can do is borrow at interest which only makes things worse. Before the fed was created the economy was significantly more stable.

When the first central bank was created in the US, they didn't renew it's carter because Thomas Jefferson called it out as being nothing more than economic manipulation by foreign entities for profit.
