Don't do butterfly options. You can get heemed if gamma is greater than your theta.

That is, the stock moves faster in either direction than what you collect in premium decay.

If you want to go that route, use short iron butterflies (an atm call and put debit spreads combined) as far into the future as possible (like 2 years or so till expiration) to hedge your gamma, and then sell iron condors with less than 2 months till expiration.

You can also leg into each side of the iron condor individually, so you can get a favorable price for each spread
