I know this was probably different back in the days bobby, but now the most important war is fought online, to control the narrative. It's 100% guaranteed at least one (1) glowie is monitoring this general and the mod is a glowie, it's not even possible otherwise. Simply because we got docs leaked about it.

The largest branch of the IDF is literally the shitposting unit : Unit 8200, cyberwarfare forces for all nations are the fastest growing branchs too. It wasn't long ago that the EU publicly announced hiring 80K+ "correct the records" agents, whose main focus was to control narratives regarding "sensitive topics" such as whistleblower rights, anti-governmental conspiracy theories, right-wing agitators,... and for that they were granted special moderation access to most biggest platforms and forums. And huge envelops to bribe online influencers.
On 4chin it's the FBI who decide who can be part of the moderation team.

Remember how Eglin was the most posting city on plebbit? Remember how hiroshimoot was forced by the FBI to handle them the moderation keys? Remember how cripplechan proved to be a honeypot collecting the EXIF data? Remember the exit nodes on Tor? Remember how Ghislaine Maxwell was the chief moderator of r/News and the first plebbitard to reach 1 million cringepoint or whatever their dick sucking system is? Remember how the french police literally hosted the 18/25? Remember Shareblue? Remember CTR? Remember the Ministry of Online Truth during the Biden regime?

Across the world it's hundreds of thousands of agents from various governmental agencies, (((NGOs))), special interest groups, etc.. whose main goal is to control the narrative online, assess potential threats and apply censorship -soft and hard-. And it's not any different for this cesspool, that would be incredibly naive to think that after 2016. Just look at what NATO did to /k/ and /pol/ via /uhg/, or how all the BBC threads magically disappeared for a week after the 7th oct.
