Nice sleight of hand you shyster fuck. Refunds don't mean anything. You are supposed to pay X amount based on how much you earn over the year and how many deductions you have. If you get a refund it simply means you paid too much and gave the government an interest-free loan and now you're getting back what you're owed. Anyone who is financially literate doesn't want a refund, they want to get their taxes right as their money is coming in.

Working for the government doesn't necessarily mean you're a net negative because they're providing necessary labor for their pay (some of them at least, a lot of government jobs at all levels are just glorified welfare for women and minorities). People like cops, firefighters, judges and teachers are all doing things society needs so getting paid by taxpayers doesn't make them a drain on society, plus they're still subject to income and FICA taxes.

Drain on society would be:
>somebody who works under the table so they can avoid taxes and get more welfare by reporting a 0$ income
