Something like pic related will have a thin line thats either a different color or texture than the rest of the limestone, usually its easier to look for texture though. If youre driving down a road thats been cut through a hill you might see some different colored stripes, thats what I mean. Im not super well versed on fossiliferous limestone though, it might be best to dyor on good fossil hunting zones in your area

I havent panned since I was a little kid, i remember getting a few decent sized gold pebbles, most were like large grains of sand though. I wanted to pan with my fiance to at least contribute to our wedding rings even if we cant find enough to make 2 whole ones
