Vandana Shiva is 100% someone everyone in this thread should know, her "Monocultures of the Mind" is a foundational text for the sustainability movement, as far as i'm concerned she is an incarnated ascended master (mistress)

her new book "Oneness vs the 1%" sounds rad too, goddamn there are just so many books to read! aagh. i wish i were immortal so i had enough time to read them all. then again, i'm happy i incarnated at this time and place- it's interesting.

these mechanisms: big pharma, big ag, big war, big government, big media, big money, big everything- depend on their illusion of invulnerability, their hypnosis depends on people not thinking about how things work and assuming nothing can change. but nothing could be further from the truth- i think in the future, after this all blows over, we'll look back and say "How did it take so long for us to see? how could we have been so blind?"

I was reading about flocking behavior in birds, and how the flock determines its course- because there's no leader, right? these groups (schools of fish, flocks of birds, swarms of bees) function as superorganisms. they were testing the reaction times of birds and found that flocks change direction in .015 seconds, whereas a normal reaction takes at the minimum .04 seconds. one individual starts to change direction and then, faster than thought, that impulse travels through the group and the group changes. there's something in that impulse towards change, and its capacity to spread throughout a superorganism or community, that struck me as significant.

it makes me wonder: what will be the impetus for that change in humanity? what will be the spark for us to wake up from this nightmare? and how can i be part of it?
