I'll buy the cheapest building in NYC, hire a diligent yet abrasive foreigner without any American friends to play the role of building supervisor & ersatz landlord, open up a dive bar & coin-operated laundromat on the ground floor, and rent out the remaining space as expensive loft apartments to trust-funded hipsters & young professionals, with two exceptions:

I will openly pretend to live in the worst apartment, furnish it in a traditional "negligent alcoholic" style, complain about the usurous rent & shitty conditions, and always ask any so-called "friends" to help out with the rent.

I will secretly live in the best apartment, furnish it in a contemporary "modern comfort" style, never tell anyone about it, and access it secretly via a concealed entrance during some of my many "work hours."

*NOBODY* else will know. Random thots & roasties will never see it (I'll fuck them in my other, shitty apartment, or, better yet, their shitty apartments or hotels or elsewhere). Other than myself, only my pair of personally trained attack dogs, raised by me, a professional K9 handler, from birth, will live there, wandering the spacious interior freely, trained to literally kill *anyone* other than myself. An automated food & water dispenser will feed & water them, and they will micturate & defecate at will in a walled garden innaccessible from anywhere except the interior of my reclusium.

No other human will ever visit my reclusium so long as I own the building.
