This is about as simple of an explanation/rebuttal for the whole “token not needed” slop I’ve seen. Bravo.

What you have to realize though is how insanely retarded most people are when it comes to understanding even a cursory level of what CL is trying to achieve.

Most of the popular cryptos only requires the understanding of 1 concept, maybe 2.
>You can pay people with BTC, LTC, BCH
>You can write a smart contract with ETH, ADA, AVAX, etc
never mind that most people have no clue what a smart contract is or does
>Doge, Shib, Fuckicoin tO ThE MoON

Now try to explain what Chainlink is and how the Link token works. You have to know the basics of how BTC/stables and the L1s work along with the issues that hold them back from global adoption.
That’s a tall ask for the average person, so we tell them,
>Link brings real world data to the blockchain

From there, these dopes think they’re slick and say
>why do they need a token?
>why can’t they just be paid in (whatever they hold)

Now if you want to explain how the Link token is necessary to these people, you have to walk them through everything we’ve spent years figuring out, making sure you’re dumbing it down enough.

Why bother with that when retail is never going to drive the adoption that will result in the price action we’re waiting for?


That’s why you see nothing but “token not needed” and other low level fud being unanswered around here.
It’s not worth it to engage these people, but every once in a while someone is able to explain it in Reddit terms, which is thoroughly ignored because above all, these people cling to their presuppositions that are the foundations of their ego.
