If climate change keeps going unchecked, the markets and the world will be far worse in the long run.

Climate change fuels societal upheaval around the world. Nobody is rioting over it specifically, but the Department of Defense calls it a "hidden stressor" - or a threat multiplier.

The Arab Spring, for example, had massive droughts in the leadup to riots. The rising cost of food was one of the many reasons why civil wars broke out all over the Middle East - which was fueled directly by climate change.

By extension even the subsequent refuge crisis was partially fueled by climate change.

Market's won't tackle this on their own, not nearly enough anyway. So yes, government policy is needed. You don't like shitty markets? You don't like refugees? Then take the climate seriously you fucking mong, because it's going to get much worse if the world doesn't do more.
