I have just been thinking about something and I'm going to put it into a few words here. Don't buy GRT, this is not a shill I don't give a shit.
If we understand the market and stock trading as an exercise to allocate resources more efficiently, those agents that recognized a trend and value before anyone get exponentially more rewards if they put their wealth where their money is and invested in what they thought. An example is those who recognized the value of the internet and invested in the 80's and 90's in tech companies, and also cashed out before the bubble burst. You could argue these people earned their money by supporting what they recognized was the future before anyone else and helping society by supporting it.
Now, let's look at the graph protocol from the perspective of a curator, you are basically using the same principles to make the system more efficient by signalling which subgraphs have the highest quality and more valuable information, and you are also are rewarded exponentially the earlier they direct their funds to signal. Just like the stock market or crypto, their are punished if they made a bad bet.
Now, for the very nature of the subgraphs I do think they will be lower timeframe and high risk/high reward endeavors. I would compare it to speculating in uniswap shitcoins, but adding value to the protocol.
I do think this is a key part of a larger trend in which in the future information and currency will be one and the same.
Thoughts?

My wife's boyfriend works for Nintendo, and he just gave me the inside scoop on what's really happening here:
>/u/deepfuckingvalue is secretly Gamestop's new CEO
>Conspires to pump up stock to stratospheric levels
>People think this is all a big joke, or a fuck you to hedge funds
>Plans to use that new infusion of capital to completely pivot business model
>Gamestop to spend billions building out new FOSS Game Engine and platform
>People will laugh at first, until they see the product
>Gamestop starts eating Valve's lunch
>Pandemic lockdowns continue
>Video games only more popular among the youth
>Gamestop works out exclusive platform deals with console makers - they essentially just become hardware-assemblers
>GME becomes top-10 tech blue chips stock
>GME becomes most powerful company in gaming
>GME becomes most valuable company in the world
>GME $10T mkt cap
>Autists who bought in at $4 now all billionaires
