>plummets after musk gets laid off by board
I mean. What if it goes up instead in this scenario. Musk is as much of a liability as he is an asset at this point.

That is a low pressure whole-vehicle "tank" with questionable sealing painted with thermite
it is NOT the same thing as a specially sealed high pressure tank stored internal to the vehicle

>Having ANY % of your port greater than 0 in the modern equivalent of the Canal bubble
>Especially when Li-ion is so blatantly a subpar battery tech
The only way I would even slightly respect your Ecar position would be if ALL of it were in one stock that you believed in. Not because I think it'd make it significantly less likely you'd take a total loss, but because at least it indicates that you are cleared-eyed that only a few (if any) will survive and you may have done some legwork to try to figure out the most likely candidate. There were 100's of U.S. ICE car manufacturers in the 1920's, now there are 2 - think about what that means for a typical investor.

if you buy a stock, then it goes down, and you sell it, you lost money. nothing else about your question matters. If you think it's going to go up later, keep it, if you think it's going to go down more, sell it. BUT. Don't base your decisions on meme lines, not if you barely know anything about stocks anyways. Read balance sheets. Then at least you will buy shares of a company that is solvent. Remember, you can only lose everything if you use leverage (don't), you use options (don't) or if the company goes bankrupt (may happen but hopefully you'll pick the good ones, have at least 5-10 positions in your port so unexpected events can't wreck you completely).

This is what I'm talking about. "They Cheated!!" is not an actionable policy for the country. You are only appealing to schizos and boomers who unironically believe everything they read on the internet. Can you even name any Red Team policies that aren't just a knee-jerk reaction to progressive stupidity?

> FDIC insurance is up to $250k
Yes but there will be a delay in getting your money. The second bank is not for "your second $250k" or whatever it's so when the FIRST one defaults you can still withdraw now, today, not 6 months from now.

>If the FDIC cuts
yeah agreed then I'd unironically be /pmg/ or maybe just /k/ that's not what I'm going for here though

>for full hedge you should open a non-US account
I'm not a DAMN commie so I'm not going to do that

Just checking lmao. Now the real question is this: do you have capgains you can cancel out with the short-term losses?
