Me neither, but tbf it's not *that* important in regard of all the shenanigans who occured during this period. Students barely study the assignats system even though it had a huge impact during this period. To this day most monetary instruments like Tbonds derive from this scam, ie printing securities on non-existing collaterals. Then promising yields you can't pay but by printing more bonds you'll sell in the future.

And well... we are the most taxed nation on earth, and it probably always have been like that. Our history books would look like a giant tax receipt if we had to list those kek.
Even if in truth it's a formidable subject, you can't understand history if you don't have a grasp of the taxation system. Most rebellions and revolutions started after taxes going too wild. It's also the most powerful tool of control over populations, taxes alone can kill entire nations.

Just last week an old fart was invited on TV liberté and he wrote about the history of taxes, it looked very interesting ngl, i'm really tempted to dive into it.
