This WILL impact ETC. With ETH moving to proof of stake all current ETH proof of stake miners will begin shifting to ETC. This transition was expected to happen weeks in the future as most expected an early Jan ETH 2.0 launch.

Miners will flood into ETC and accumulate as to keep their equipment profit-driving.

MOREOVER, ETC is a hedge against a failed ETH 2.0. If ETH fails in its attempt to bring Proof of Stake to life, miners will still not be able to re-enter ETH easily, making ETC STILL the safest and most profitable option.
