Because /pol/ is a complete fucking mess. The sheer amount of obvious bait threads are so ridiculous it’s unbearable. Any general outside of fucking /ptg/ gets slid down to the bottom and cataloged. You can’t even run an /nsg/ thread without it getting spammed to hell and back and dying after 30 minutes. Most threads are extremely low effort, being a single sentence/question or a Twitter post. The only high effort threads are /x/-tier bullshit or retards coping after losing an argument in another thread.

But what does jannie do about posts that blatantly go against Global Rules? Absolutely nothing. But what does jannie do about threads about content creation or nigger hate? Immediate deletion or it gets thrown into /bant/.

Even worse though are it’s users. Gone are the days of genuine political discussion between members of differing factions, and well thought out analysis. Now it’s just two hiveminds of shills and retards throwing insults at one another, while never conceding a point or changing their own mind. They refuse to adapt, they refuse to learn, and they refuse to do anything. It has become a safe space, not for challenging ideas, but unpopular ideas, for these ideas are simply incapable of actually interacting with each other in any meaningful way. It is the death of Hegelian Dialectics.

What once stood as one of the only places left on the internet has been destroyed by the very thing it was designed to repel: people incapable of critical thought. In a way it’s happening on /biz/ too, though since there is genuine risk involved with investing, most will go bankrupt and fuck off. At least here you have actual repercussions for refusing to learn from your mistakes.

But what’s so frustrating about it is that /pol/ would be so easy to fix. If there was just one QTDDTOT thread to replace all the single question bait threads, the board’s average quality would reverse itself overnight.

At least /sg/ is back.
