What truly marked the death of Utah as a state, however, was the death of The Training Table. You knew Utah was fucked when you could no longer get those damn delicious hickory burgers and mountains of fries, complete with fry sauce (or you could go hardcore and mix mayo with the hickory sauce, very based.)
Other shit died too that was sort of iconic. No longer can you enjoy ramen at the Utah Noodle Parlor. Shit, even that one froyo chain that had banging ass acai froyo shut down pretty shortly after popping up all over the place.
If you weren't there for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, you missed peak Utah. If you weren't in Utah for the U of U's run to the Fiesta Bowl under the command of Urban Meyer and Alex Smith, you missed out on peak Utah.
