And wouldn’t you just know it, mental illness is known to make people more prone to addiction.

Those are facts. Here is my opinion:
Crazy people almost never think they need psychiatric medication. In fact, most psychiatric medication makes them feel worse. They don’t seek it out, especially when it’s very expensive. You know what’s not very expensive, makes you feel better, and is highly addictive? Crack, meth, and smack.
