here's a whale post from an AMA in 2018 June

"Lots of coordinated FUD that allowed a lot of smart and patient blockchain enthusiasts to accumulate without fret or worry of missing asymmetrical upside.

I sense people are beginning to wake up or at the very least make themselves aware of the potential of this much-needed middleware stack.

Let's play a thought experiment:

If you had the chance to invest in bitcoin early-on for penny's on the dollar (say in 2009-10), would you? If we could fast-track you back in time and you had the opportunity to conduct such an act you still wouldn't do it.

Seems counter-intuitive, sure. But not quite.

Most people at the time who heard about bitcoin early-on chose to ignore it believing that the tech would not go anywhere.

Those who entertained the putting serious money behind it chose not to bailed at the chance due to its inherent risk profile and were psychologically "safer" in choosing more conventional investments.

Chainlink is a new paradigm and which is why most do not get it, much less conceptually develop a framework for the ecosystem it may build. It is something new. Which is why the memes were so needed in the first place. They catch your attention, but research and finding out the areas covered and impacting this emerging field (while battling your own blind spots) will separate you from the crowd.

I'm willing to bet there are other's here lurking within 4chan have a similar patience to put their money where their mouth's are, while willing to make a contrarian bet with asymmetrical potential.

In a few years, we will see if my decision was a bold move that paid off, or something of a cautionary tale.

I'm willing to take the bet. The reward is too large for me to consciously ignore with my mouths of studying Chainlink and its forthcoming role for the world. Apologies in advance for typos."

this place has changed my life too, somehow ended up with a 180k link stack converted from €50k spent on shitcoins shilled here 2017/early 18. could have had so much more though. but in some fucked up way I'm closer to you retarded loosers than most other people in the world, no one else will ever know or understand what's happening here. I'll never forget, love you guys forever

you should have bigger ambitions anon. I'm determined not to sell ANY until it's close to 100. I check etherscan pretty much daily & take it for granted now when I see my stack worth high 6 figs. & when link hits 6, that figure will be over a million. it's alot, but you have to get used to it, start to take it for granted. if you sell too early you'll regret it. the multipliers are significant with a 6 fig stack. the difference between selling some at 50 & 100 is hundreds of thousands or millions. I'm aiming for mid 8 figures - a few mil is not enough these days comparatively speaking - 30,000,000 - now that's fuck you money, & the only way to get that is to hold right the way through when you've already got millions. you might say it's risky, cash out profits etc, right, but only cash out what you absolutely need. this is link, it won't fail, $100 is going to happen - it's fated to rule the world and anyone who can't see this doesn't properly get the full implications

2018 was so good for link threads. Started going to shit from June 2018 onwards after the pump to 60c in september. Then of course post-mainnet it is all shit, all us old marines don't even bother posting any more and the fudders aren't even funny, just stupid. Take a look at old posts and memes:

In his talk Sergey says that he had talked to all the top people in cryptography, all the academic OGs, and he says non of them could give him an answer to the question of what's the optimal level of decentralisation? Well /biz/, what is the optimal amount of decentralisation?

I can guarantee you're the most insufferable thing IRL. The kind of person people avoid completely, the kind of thing that grates on people. The kind of person people will avoid interacting with at all costs. Amirite?
Also link $1000 eoy.
