This is an innovative idea and I can't believe more posters haven't been discussing it.
What is one of the main things we have been complaining about for the past several months? The fact that the devs keep demanding payment first before any work is done, and the fact that they demand their payment by U.S. dollar amount instead of by LUNC amount, which signals their lack of faith in LUNC's value ever increasing significantly. Yet we've been paying the devs first anyway, but no major burns or other developments have happened and there is currently no official plan or roadmap for a major burn or other utility.
So since that's not working right now, why not try the opposite of that? Instead of the devs getting paid for profit first for work later that they may or may not do, let the community work together first by paying to burn LUNC en masse with their regular beer money, then get paid back later to break even with repegged USTC?
CZ's been throwing away millions of dollars worth of LUNC away for months to help with the burn and all he got paid back is some good publicity. Are we all really too good to throw away our beer money regularly in a similar fashion? Even if we get paid back depegged USTC that's expected to be repegged?
