Thanks to scrapfren i don't have a single set, but many.
And the one for my daily uses is coming from ancient french nobility and display coats of arms on the handle. The set's hallmarks are from 1730, and it was high quality, heavy stuff back then. 3oz per item with .958 purity.

I feel like a prince eating my Lidl spaghettis+ketchup with a 300 yo silver fork.

It's the point i was making. Any extra cash i have is immediately converted in precious metals, antiques or collectibles i think will retain their real (not simply nominal) value.
Lately i'm loading up on pre-revolutionary silverware for example. They are a mix of my trifecta of wants i just named, plus they are easy to identify. I find it mindblowing i can get 300yo .950 silver forks for basically spot price on ebay.
Tu devrais apprécier la photo si tu aimes un peu l'histoire. Poincons royaux de fermiers généraux de Poitiers, Blois, Rennes, Angers, Paris,..
Tout ça acquis au prix du spot, voir moins desfois.

Pic rel is a zoom on the hallmarks, a bunch of them are being "buried" under the silver, it looks like the silver handle progressively "melted" over it. I'm wondering if its possible to dig the marks up?
