the GDR only had Aluminium coinage, however, they apparently did collectors/commemorative ones in various silver qualities from 500 to 800 (with one 999 coin) for the foreign market to earn hard currency. But there's hundreds of motives and a quick look at wikipedia doesn't seem to show any system behind it, so those are probably hard to identify.
Any Ossies in here that can shed light on that?
Also, wouldn't be surprised if those command a numismatic premium.
