Because they've been quietly creating a quality blockchain platform that is actually being used by Asian businesses, and their token has also caught on in the most crypto-friendly economy in the world. Their project isn't flashy, doesn't make promises they can't keep, and doesn't rely on vaporware tech that will allegedly exist in 10 years. They have 0 marketing in the west because they don't care about us or need us.

I got in at .20 and sold at 1.00 ATH, I was disappointed with the harvesting it really doesn't get you anything. I still like NEM though its a great project and Lon Wong seems like a cool guy. Also it's big in Japan which is pretty neat.
