I see that the Ledger and Trezor wallets generate a 24 word seed. Normally anyone can steal your coins if they have your 24 words. However I also see there is an advanced option to add a passphrase. It says that with this option someone must have both your 24 word seed and also your secret passphrase in order to steal your coins. But my question is this. If you choose a passphrase that is simple and not secure would this be less safe, equally safe, or more safe to simply not having a passphrase at all? In other words would a hacker still need to know your 24 words and your passphrase to steal your coins, or would a weak passphrase allow them to more easily steal your coins than if you did not have a passphrase in the first place?
