His credit may be shit. I don't think the company has the star-studded future bulls have painted it to have. But I do think their tech is invaluable to anyone pursuing EVs, autonomous, or solar on the planet. If it sinks, you can protect patents later and deny the major U.S. automakers a 7 year headstart in autonomous and electric. If it does well, all the better.

What? I'm saying they DO want the buyout, they want off of Musk's wild ride and they want off ASAP, before a crash. They don't need to pledge 70bn, they only need roughly 30bn depending on how many decide to buy out.
