In order for BTC mining to remain profitable long term a few things need to happen.

1. BTC price must go up indefinitely.

2. Supply cap needs to be increased.

Assume the hypothetical scenario where in 5 years, mining profitability drops significantly. Miners will have to start mining alternative ASIC based tokens in order to stay afloat (BCH and/or BSV).

Because miners have invested so much money into infrastructure, who's to say they couldn't create a marketing campaign that could increase the legitimacy of either of these tokens in the future, or even create a new ASIC based token given the stigma surrounding both forks.

Reality is an infinite, negentropic, holofractal Lorenz system
