Checked. Could you forsee IOTAs x3 two weeks ago? It could have happened at any point in the last 2 months. First nothing happened and then BOOM x3! Same goes for yesterdays crash. Could you forsee any of this? If not, then just buy best tech and HODL, rest is gambling.

Yes everybody can run a node. In 4-6 weeks a HUGE breaking mainnet update will be released (Chrysalis) with two new, functionally identical, nodes (Bee and Hornet). You can play with them on the Chrysalis testnet in between.

Spam gets countered by a little POW, however the Tangle is very scalable (1000tps) and with every transaction you must validate 2 previous once.

If you want details go to https://blog.iota.org/
or ask the devs directly on IOTA Discord

Samefag

1. It works like a charm, check here: https://explorer.iota.org/mainnet
2. Main wallet got hacked through a third-party integration (Moonpay). To sage users funds, IOTA Foundation shut off the coordinator, so no value transactions could be made. Data transactions went on completly unharmed, cause they are already full decentralized. The network itself was never harmed and never shut off. (I know you are the paid FUD guy and will repeat this lie in the next thread, but whatever).

The network itself was never hacked, only a wallet one year ago. Code is all public on Github and gets external security audits before release. Chrysalis security audit is almost done, mainnet update Q1 imminent.

Tech doesnt speak. People speak, about tech. This thread is facts only, no price hype.

Nice trips. IOTA Foundation is a 120+ (soon 150+) full time working team which overcame lots of adversaries over the past years. They learned everything there is to learn in crypto. Thats why now the harvest is ripe

Exactly this. Chrysalis optimized every single aspect of the protocol and is modular. It doesnt care what consensus algorithm is plugged in. So Coordicide update is just another consensus modul on the otherwise finished protocol
