I pay $1,700 for a shitty 1 bedroom with mold and no dishwasher that the landlord raises rent on at least 3 times per year. Only a block from the beach in Southern California, and it's my home town, though. So I can't really escape the dumb costs.

Currently upgrading so that the square footage per dollar is more acceptable (plus I need a yard for my dog, she's no puppy anymore).

They really need to start factoring in the demographics into pricing around here. Or maybe they already do and that's why I pay so much, rofl.
