You know the initial reason to naked short? To profit off of bankrupting companies. Your insiders know it's going bankrupt, and that's why they're selling everything they have. The amount of shares/naked shares held by retail won't matter. If it's bankrupt your stock goes to 0. Nobody is required to buy back your stock.

I could literally say the same thing about Tesla or Netflix, difference is GameStop hasn't launched their marketplace yet, you know, the very thing they spent all that money on. You could argue that there's no telling if they made a good investment in its structure, but an L2 wallet with nearly nonexistent gas fees probably says otherwise.
