Yep. He hasn't been here for a few months. The idea that the fed's interest rate hike has a delayed effect on the economy is true, but the whole concept behind hiked rates making it more expensive to borrow money is so simple and economics 101 that it's basically common sense. Literally go look at the corporate bond yield. Or the millions of articles about how its effecting the mortgage rate and housing. Or all the companies having to refinance their debt.

There is a laundry lists of carefully documented effects that the federal reserve itself acknowledges, but for some reason this ((person)) needs to fight with everyone and convince the thread that "It's totally not the fed's fault!"

>The last few years have convinced me that maybe the commies were right all along
shut up you dumb retard, the inflation we have is the result of western society going full commie and shutting down their economies during the pandemic AS WELL AS printing 25% of all dollars in existence in two fucking years when real bond yields were fucking negative

We had massive government and central bank intervention and you want to go "maybe the commies were right?"?

You're genuinely so fucking stupid

I don't understand how the charts have worked out like this, from what I know of SOXL, wouldn't the heaviest drops in both 2016, 2019 and 2022 have completely wiped out your principle? For example the -90% drop from December 2021 to October 2022 would've irreparably destroyed your portfolio, and the prodigious ~100% recovery during the year after that would only result in you being down -80% overall instead. Am I misinterpreting this? I was under the impression that things like the -80% and -90% portfolio wipers are the reason SOXL and SOXS are only traded for short term and can't be held for years like regular non-leveraged stocks?
