You can take the Avalanche Shovel and dig some Gold sure, but if you dont have the Chainlink minecart and some rails to transport it to the market you wont have a high volume of excavated material.
It also doesnt really work if you dont have the Shovel but just the Minecart because then you will also have low volume because you do all the digging by hand.
Basically what I'm getting at here is that Chainlink and Avalanche depend on each other.
To do what they set out to do at a Global Scale is only possible if these Technologies are combined.

also I doubt they would be able to buy the Developers from Ava Labs, their plan is to tokenize all the Assets in the world and thats worth many trillions of dollars, Mastercard is unironically smaller than Ava Labs.

Eventually it will be used for that, there are already decentralized cloud computing platforms building with Avalanche Subnets, Deepsquare for example just recently moved over from Ethereum to Avalanche because Subnets is what they need for a high performance task like this.
Basically people will be able to buy and sell GPU power to generate AI stuff.
Many more such platforms will be launching in the future and they will be all Subnets on Avalanche.
