yeah they can't stop a recession, they're just trying to stop everything from defaulting at once and badly damaging the health of the financial system.

But the point remains that what they are doing IS bullish for the market and even for the economy. Sure the fed thinks we're fucked, but the market knew we were fucked and that's what started a crash.

The fed's efforts changed the dismal picture the market was pricing in to something much less dreadful, and the medical news since then has also been miraculous compared to what we were expecting. Deaths are going to be much less than feared, and fucking New York held.
