Business Noob here.

Lets say that I have an asset that generated a certain amount of revenue and that I bought it at a considerable cost.

Then lets say that a newer version of that asset came to the market and it generates even more revenue.

How would I go about measuring whether if I should go and purchase the new asset or whether if I should stick to the old asset for a few more years before investing in the new one.
