What do you mean explain it? You're taking its ICO price. Many if not most coins that linger as long will have established higher prices than those traded on fucking EtherDelta 5 years ago at ICO. The point is it has sustained underperformance for 2 years. That means failure to defend market share.

Defensive crusades like in OP only come about because holders are insecure from falling woefully short of their own world domination fantasies posted here for years. Or are you unaware of this history considering how *new* you are to LINK? You can only talk so much about your undiscovered gem before you simply have to deliver, and that's one thing CL has not done. Put up or shut up. There will be a point even around these prices where it will begin to make sense to rebalance my LINK into other shit and I fully intend to do so. There's been nothing but paralysed submission for 2 years now. It beggars belief.
