I have seen it all. Cancer, divorce, mental illness, physical disabilities, economy... I have had former millionaires sitting across from me crying because their max food stamp benefit is what they'd spend on a casual lunch. I've had terminally ill people crying at my desk because they couldn't have more than $2000 in the bank or work or they'd lose their medicaid, so that meant they essentially had to go e up the house they had a few years left of payments on and die in their mothers basement. You certainly should plan and prepare, but shit happens and hind sight is 20 20. And yes, I've seen attractive healthy non mentally ill women end up homeless. One was a law school graduate who filed a domestic abuse situation and was living in a state far away from family. The abuser isolated her from friends so she had no one to return to and no money. She lived in roach infested shelters until she was able to save enough to buy a car and lived there while saving up for an apartment, but she genuinely lived out of a Nissan versa for 6 months.
