Does that mean the alt outperformed bitcoin by a percent meaning even if bitcoin went up "20%", you'd have been better off with the alt and long story short would end up with a net gain in bitcoin?

Can you explain to a financially illiterate retard (me) how would you make money with 10k of my savings? In the safest way possible with the least required knowledge/skill (obviously I'd do some research), no gambling or chance I'd end up with less than I started with
