tip: ignore new languages, if after 15 years if it's still not widely used or didn't made anything impressive, it means it will never take off, and you will waste your time (looking at rust and go right now, holding my laughter but not for too long). also you shall probably ignore OOP entirely (hello java and c#). you can tell this trend is slowly dying, for the better. avoid languages that pretend to be the polyvalent solution for all problems.
